Review for Elite Clone Trooper and Commando Battle Droid Battle Pack

So I finally caught up with all the Lego SW nuts out there and bought this set!

This set is very very nice! I'll start my review with the Minifigs:

This set's Figs are really pretty good.
The ARC Trooper has an extreme amount of detailing, and his new fabric ARC armor is very nice. He also comes with a red visor( to be more precise he comes with four rangefinders and four visors :-O). He also comes with two scoped pistols.

The ARF Trooper is a new paint scheme an the ARF trooper from the older Clone B-Pack from 2011. His helmet is actually more detailed than the older one. His torso is just regular clone trooper torso with red arms. His weapon is a "standard issue" black rifle.

The two commando droids are identical, they both come with a regular blaster. Their paint scheme appears to be all new, and their legs are the same shape as super battle droids. These guys appear to have some sort of badge on their torso( the little red dot ).

Actually the minifigs really aren't my favorite part of this set. The cannon is absolutely superb! I can't tell you how great this is. The barrel part goes up and down while the legs only go side to side. The little feet go down but the range is limited. The flick missile is one of the best!! It actually has a "trigger" unlike most. It's not actually a trigger but a thicker rod that you flick hard. For some reason it is easier to hit than a flick missiles shaft. Once the missile launcher gets broken in you can probably get some serious range! The only thing that bugs me is the little clear piece at the bottom. Its just in the way! If you don't like it though, just take it off!

Overalls:

Kids: 10/10
Collectors: 10/10 ( the figs)
For Bricks: 4/10
For the Build: 3/10
Price: 7/10 ( back to ten bucks please )
Over-ALL: 9/10

This set is really a must have for any collector or kid!

Review for Lego Star Wars 3 Xbox360

O.k. I had this game pre-ordered and got it the day it came out. I have beaten all of the levels. From Geonosian Arena to Zillo beast, and must say THIS GAME ROCKS!
O.k to start with, the graphics are very good (lego game or not). The game play is very good!!!! Some challenging puzzles and also some BIG battles really gives this game an A+ ! Now I am going to go through and give you a piece by piece review of the game.
Main levels:
Very good levels ! some of the levels such as duel of the droids had challenging aspects that really do require you to think. Some new special moves such as lightsaber throwing, lightsaber wall cutting, lightsaber wall jumping, repeating chainguns( they rock), and rocket launchers give this game a new feel from the older lego games. Lego Is now trying to incorporate puzzles into things that used to be straight foreward and I like it a lot! For instance you have to remember a certain sequence in order to use Protocol Droid panels. Also, the Bounty Hunter levels are very difficult. They are a great challenge tho'.
Hub levels
O.k. the Resolute is totally awesome. I really like the open feel to the ship, and the way you can hyperdrive from place to place. Another new feature that they didn't use much in the older games or the Lego Indy games was the way you must collect gold bricks to unlock more of the Hub.(SPOILER)!!!!!! The way you can travel over to the Invisable Hand is really really cool! It took my awhile to figure out how to go to it but once I did it was worth it!!!!
Massive battles:
These really really really rock a lot !!! Being able to go from Driving a bad to the bone RX-2000 tank to using a even more bad to the bone canon makes this a really cool feature! The ability to hijack enemy vehicles/emplacements is one of my favorite things about these battles! The way you can lead squads of clones or battle droids into battle is quite well done and really can turn the tide of battle ! The time limits on the ground invasions makes it very hard( even for an experienced gamer like me!)! There is one little obnoxious glitch in these battles though, If you are in a ground emplacement and there is a vehicle next to it the Y button will start flashing above the vehicle. If you try and press Y to change over to the vehicle It won't change over OR get you out of the ground item. The only way to get out (if the vehicle isn't moving) is to tag another player and have them move the vehicle.
Characters:
O.k. the characters in this game are better made then ever before! One new feature is that the blaster are now "realistic" style blasters not megaphones with red studs on the front!! There is a wide range of abilities and weapons that make the characters one of the best parts of the game! One of the only problems that I have with the game so far is (SPOILER!!!) when you try to unlock a character from the brig they sometimes die while you try to buy them ( if play the game you will see why) and then they disappear until you get out of the game back to the main menu and get back in.
Vehicles:
They are all very well designed and work well. period. The pirate tank is one of my favorites. It has a ton of power and moves at a good pace. One question for the Lego Company: why isn't there a clone turbo tank in this game!!! The clone Turbo Tank is one of my favorite vehicles in StarWars and it appears to have been omitted from this game.
Overall the vehicle really add something very nice to this game.
Last but not least Bonus Content:
The minikits are very well done as usual, and I like the way they make a playable character once you complete it. The true jedi is very challenging in some levels and really adds an aspect of difficulty to the game. The 130 gold brick structure is a tad sad...... I wont say what it is tho'.
Overall:
I definitely recommend this game.It is very massive and will require some time to complete. The value for money is VERY HIGH! One last thing and then I'm done: I'm dissapointed it doesn't appear that this game has a level builder!?! What happened with that? Please don't get rid f the level builder!! Keep putting it in games! It makes the games keep going and going even after you have gotten 100%! It's still a good game even without the level builder though so don't let that keep you from buying it.
P.s. sorry about the past tense mixing with the present tense. I was pasting it from a review I wrote when the game came out,and I didn't have time to fix it all.

So I hear that they are making LEGO Lord of the Rings. I cant wait to see how they do the Nazgul! I'm also curious as to how they are going to do the Ring. Any ideas? I also saw a page that had leaked pictures, but LEGO had the website pull the pics. If they make the trolls like the big rockmonsters from PowerMiners, well I'm not sure if that would be good or not.....

So I just got the LEGO Star Wars Bounty Hunter Gunship, and I decided that I would make my own set using the pieces and then post pictures of it. So here is my idea. I created a Bounty Hunter Atmospheric Speeder.
P.s. sorry about the bad quality photos

Review for the Geonosian Starfighter set

This set is a remake of an older "bug" starfighter that they made in about 2002/03 without the geonosian cannon. The only major complaint I have is that it should have been only about $25.00.
First, the ship itself is quite nice with really great "swooshability" and an uncommon color scheme. It comes with an uncommon bubble cockpit piece and a little jet engine in the back. The gun that you see on the front sandwiched between the prongs of the ship rotates side to side. Inside the cockpit is space for the geonosian and a little control panel. The cockpit isn't studded so the pilot is much easier to put in and remove then pilots in other starships/planes that the LEGO group has designed. One thing that you might be surprised at is that there is a space in between the engine and the gun mount. The ship also has a small bomb bay on the belly that holds one orange rocket. If you push the edge of the bomb bay with your finger the bomb drops out.
The minifigs are really the best thing with this set.
Cody is a harder minifigure to get your hands on if you couldn't afford [like me ;-)] or just didn't buy the LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship from 2008. He comes with a full set of grey ARC armor[2 helmet lights,2 rangefinders,a kama, and a visor].
Ki-Adi-Mundi is a unique and rare minifig. Only Mundi has his head, head addition, and torso. For those of you who were expecting the first Mundi fig' to have an extended head piece like he has in the LEGO Star Wars games too bad. He instead has a very detailed head attachment with a ponytail. He also comes with a blue lightsaber.
The Geonosian Pilot is another unique figure. His all new head, torso, and legs are all exclusive to his minifig. They are also VERY detailed.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
bomb bay
bubble cockpit
rare colored pieces
Cody
Ki-Adi-Mundi
Geonosian Pilot
Mundi's head "hat"
Cons:
it really should be $25.00.
Suggestions: Could you maybe make a new sonic blaster piece, LEGO designers?
Overalls:
For collectors: A MUST for the figs': 10/10
For kids: They aren't going to be to crazy about it by itself: 6/10
For parents: Not so great: 5/10
For the bricks: Lots of rarer colors and the cockpit canopy: 10/10
Over all the overalls: 8/10

P.S. I also recommend the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia. I got some of my information about the minifigs from it.

Reviews too

I've decided to post reviews for LEGO sets here also. All of the reviews will have been written by me.

LEGO Star Wars Heavy MachineGun

So if you played LEGO Star Wars 3 then you probably remember the big machine gun that some of the clones carried. You might have also noticed that it never came with any set. So I decided a while back to inspect some pictures from the game and reproduce it in pieces. See the pictures:

Here is the gun completed

And here are the parts. As you can probably tell, you will need four pieces, a 1x2 plate with handle, a megaphone, a technic stick with knob, and a technic ring.

Hope that this post showed how to create this gun. If you built it please comment.

The Start

This blog is all about LEGO pieces, sets, and of course ideas. I'll try to frequently post ideas for modifications to this page. The idea here is to post new designs to add to your current LEGO models. I'll continue to post pictures and brief descriptions of the modifications that I have made. Most of the sets here are going to be LEGO Star Wars so If you like that theme this blog is especially for you.
